Information

Parador Granada

. . . is the most requested and popular of the 93 Spanish Paradors. All of the Paradors are popular and rightfully so – as they offer a rare combination of history, art and architecture – and unmatched service – not often achieved in other hotels.  However, the Parador of Granada has hosted kings and queens – presidents – and luminaries of all types since it’s opening. It’s easy to understand why – as it has a location second to no other in Europe – nestled among the gardens of the amazing Alhambra.

The Parador at Granada even has its own museum – one of only three Paradors that currently have such. There are many fascinating artifacts on display . . .

– from the time of the Catholic Monarchs and Moorish occupation that give us a hint today of the wonders that were and their evolution down through history – right up through Washington Irving (author of “Tales of the Alhambra,”) and Garcia Lorca (one of Spain’s great 20th century poets).

Other Paradors in the system have plans to also inaugurate their own museums – each of which will catalog and display relics from the local area’s history. These projects are a great step towards bringing to the ‘tourist a better feeling and understanding of the area being visited.

Parador Granada – as with all the other Paradors – has made every possible effort to preserve the best of the original and historical while upgrading all facilities to the highest standard in order to provide the visitor with the best of modern amenities. The Parador has recently undergone an extensive refurbishment project, and all is at its sparkling and freshest best.
