Also known as the Parador San Francisco, this hotel is one of the most famous in all of Spain. A four-star hotel of the highest quality, it provides a level of accommodations that are far above the usual tourist fare.
For starters – you will be allowed to spend your evenings inside the enchanting Alhambra after all the other visitors have left . . . and how very special and romantic that is! You will never forget the evenings there – when the lights come on and illuminate the incredible monuments, and you will have a ring-side seat.
You will arrive at the Parador Granada by taking the ring road – “Circunvalacion” in Spanish – avoiding the center of Granada. Follow the signs that say “Alhambra” and/or “Sierra Nevada,” or “Motril.” Follow the “hotels” sign that veers to the left right at the Alhambra parking lot entrance, and about 50 meters down that road you will come to a sign for the Parador entrance. There is a guarded kiosk there where you will need to give your reservation details before being allowed to enter. Follow the Calle Real de la Alhambra to its end. The Parador has private parking for guests.
If you arrive by plane – the Granada Parador is about 15 km from the airport, so a 20 min. taxi ride will bring you there. If you arrive by train, it is only about 4 km. and a very short taxi ride away.

The Parador’s public places contain numerous art works and antique classical furniture. Its interior is a unique combination of ornate Moorish, and austere Christian styles. There are exceptional engravings, tapestries and portraiture art placed throughout.
Each bedroom is different form the next in design, and many have wonderful views out over the Alhambra and gardens. All bedrooms have en-suite bathroom, writing table, chairs and television with cable and satellite reception, as well as WIFI internet access.

The dining room at the Parador of Granada serves local cuisine in a fine style. Two of the typical dishes served are Gazpacho (a tomato-based cold soup), and Alpujara style chicken from the mountain area outside of the city. They have gluten-free dishes, and of course – as at all Paradors, there is an extensive wine list to pair with your meal choices, as well as a full dessert card. There is a pleasant terrace area where one can dine during the usually good weather of Granada.
